I have gotten some good advice here and hoping to get a quick answer on this one. Our receptionist would like to be able to handle incoming calls when she is away from her desk and in the copy room. The lines are programed on the handset, but there is no audible ring to alert her of an incoming call. Is there a way to easily configure the copy room phone to ring when an incoming call is received? This is a FXII-96 Feature Set 17E system.

Program the copy room phone to have the lines direct ring on it.

If you have programmed direct on the copy room set and it is not working then you either have the wrong extension number programmed, the ringer volume is turned all the way off, you didn't apply the changes or the copy room set speaker is defective. Meantime have the receptionist use a fwd-a (forward all) button to fwd to the copy room and see if that works.

There could also be a hunt group used to make the phone ring. Less likely, but possible. Another option could be that Night mode is used during the day. In that case, you would need to program Night ring instead of Direct Ring.

In my version with VMMI can program another extension under "ring monitor". I use it to have my phone ring in my workspace when I am not at my desk. works great and sounds like what you want.

The Ring Monitor suggestion works like a champ. Thanks for all the good input.
