I always seem to have the odd issues.

We have 6 phones (owner, 3 employees, conference room and a common area)

4 phone numbers (owner, 2 employees, fax)

4 voicemail boxes (owner, 3 employees)

We are not using voicemail through the phone company.

When I came in this morning the voicemail button was flashing on the common area and conference room phones. Those phones are not set up for voicemail. I've tried using the extension number to enter voicemail and I keep getting a message that I'm not using the correct password.

I checked and none of the other phones have a voicemail pending (blinking light).

Any idea what I should do? I've already turned off the phone system, waited about 2 minutes and then turned it back on.

As always, thanks for any input.
Tammy

If the mb password is not the extension number, you'll need to log in vm as the administrator!

Thank you both, I figured it out. I was using the wrong extension numbers. Got the lights cleared and the message deleted. I'm so glad this forum is here!
Thanks again!

I would like to know the solution. I also am having similar problem. However, I know, for sure, that I am using the right extension numbers.

Let me explain more, my voicemail light is blinking on all inactive extensions. These extensions ring, can pick-up calls, but should not have anyone's voicemail attached to them. I call the voicemail and it says no new messages (after giving me the tutorial to set-up the voicemail and set a password).

Thanks in advance for the help!!

Tbenne, first welcome to the board. Second, in the future start a new post with a new situation like this. It just helps the search engines find stuff. Now, here's what you should try. From inside your own voicemail you have an option to "send a message to another mailbox" - do that and send a message to one of the phones that has a light lit with no message. Then go to that phone, listen to and delete the message, if in a few minutes the light goes away, do the rest of them the same. If not. Start a "new topic".

Thanks for this tip Mark K.! Had "mystery lights" on 3 phones which had VM disabled. This fixed it for me. smile
