A couple of weeks ago I posted here to get the phone at the receptionists desk to ring as it stopped after hurricane Ivan left us without power for over a week and the system battery must be dead.

With your help I went into programming and got it done.

One more problem: I have a single line phone that was programmed/plugged into either port 7 or 8. When it was working before the storm, I would pick up to dial, hear a tone then dial "9" to get a dial tone.

When I pick up now I don't get any tone at all which leads me to belive that when the power was out the system lost its programming for that port.

So, how do I program that phone to work and have the dial 9 function programmed for that phone "only"?

Rick

1-did you touch the dip switches on main board 3 and 8 for7 and 4 and 9 for sta 8
should be off
2-programm #38 assigns single line status
of sets 0-is keyset
1-is single line
you must enter all 16 digits
for you
0000001100000000 the 1"s are 7 & 8
dial 9 in default is all trunks included
as 1"s
#31 is coline access default is allow

Thanks for the info on getting my single line phone to work on station #8.

I did what you suggested using #38 and entered 0000001100000000.

I now get a tone on my single line phone buit when I hit 9, I am still not
getting a dial tone like I should.

What step did I miss? Can you give the step by step on how to get station #8
to use the dial 9?

Thanks in advance!

press dss key of your 7 or 8
should be all 1's /should be 8 if not put in 8
#30
should be all 0's 16 if not enter 0 x 16
see if that does it
above there is a link for manuals

So what you are saying is
1)enter pass code
2) hit #31 then hit the dss key for station 8 and that will give me a dial tone when I hit 9?

Ken,

I am getting closer now...really!

I did exactly what you said now I have one more question and I should be good to go...

I can now pick up the single line phone, press 9 and see on the prostar key phone that it is going straight to line #8 and looking for a dial tone. The problem is I only have telco service on lines 1,2 &3 so I need it to go to line 1, 2 or 3 to look for the dial tone.

Before the storm and the power outage, when I would hit 9, it would automatically dial out on line 3 which I'm OK with if you can help me get it to do that again that would do it...
