Be very careful about your group setting. You must designate your group as VMAA not Bi-VMS. Also if you are using a 3rd party voicemail the integration digits must be set if its going to work properly.
When you say external voicemail, do you mean a third party voicemail that connects to an analog port on the phone system or do you mean an external telephone number that has voicemail service?
2nd, if the voicemail is third party and attached to the 500 system, do not use group 529, 5029, or 549, or 5049. Those groups are designed specifically for samsungs built in voicemail system. You can use any oher group set to VMAA. Then in MMC 102 you will forward no answer to that specific group.
