I realize that the Samsung iDCS 500 is suppose to be backward compatible but I was wondering how far back it could go with other samsung equipment? I am not familiar with the older samsung equipment but I know the Samung makes the following:

iDCS 500
iDCS 100
DCS
50 Si
DCSC(compact)
DS 616
PROSTAR 816

The iDCS 500 is not compatiable with parts from all these older systems is it?

The 500 is compatible with some DCS parts.The PSU 60 can be used along with the DLI and some Trunk cards.

So the iDCS 500 is backwards compatible with:

iDCS 100
DCS

but not with:

50 Si
DCSC(compact)
DS 616
PROSTAR 816

I really wouldn't say the 500 is backward compatible with the iDCS100.There are a few cards that would be but no common cards.All the 100 station and trunk cards are not ccompatible with the 500 except for a PRI card and the SVMi-8 voicemail I believe.Of course the phones are all almost all compatible with the exception being the DS616 which doesn't use all the different phone types.
To say they are backward compatible to me is a stretch,you could reuse some cards and phones but hey that's marketing

with the exception of maybe the samsung phones but not with system cards,etc..

Well the SVMi-8 voicemail is compatible with the 100 and the 500 and the Pri card?
