Trying to update a iDCS 500 rel 1 ver Software M to iDCS 500 Rel 2 ver L software. I have the parts needed but not the full info. I have the PCMMC which does support both versions of the software/hardware so here goes with the questions

1- Can i back up the REL-1 Ver-M and restore programming to REL-2 Ver-L ( using the software over a lan connection

2- Are there any other considerations in programming the new version, ie: incompatibilities.

The reason or the upgrade is DID limitations of the REL M software and the near term need to add a second cabinet for the system.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

Essm

You have to use the most up to date OSM make a backup of your Rel1 then go off line. You then can use the OSM to do database conversion. Now remember there are a few MMCs that wont convert Samsung sent out a tech bulliten on this.

Thank you I will give it a try, I assume VER L works for rel 1 or 2 (except for the MMC's that do not copy
