Does anyone have any experience with callers being sent to the operator while listening to a mailbox greeting?

The system is a Samsung StarMail connected to a Samsung DCS Compact.

I have a good idea of what is causing the problem. I'm willing to bet the person hit the digit 0 while recording thier greeting, so while the greeting is playing the starmail hears 0 and transfers the call. Have you had the person rerecord thier mailbox greeting?

Thanks for your reply. This problem has been reported by most of the users at this location. It's not one individual.

Well can't say I have seen that problem on multiple mailboxes. I would make sure the integration is perfect. If you have more than one port card in the starmail try frogging them, and if all else fails default the starmail and see if the same thing happens in a default condition.

Well I have had this problem before and there are two different things that might be happening.

The first thing is that the hard drive on that Starmail might be going out. The Starmail systems start doing that kind of stuff when the hard drive is on it's way out.

The second thing is that there is a hidden parameter in those Starmail's that is for sensitivity or something like that. Only tech support can get in there and change it though. You would have to call them then transfer them into the voicemail and they set the level.

Those are the only two things that I can suggest that I have run into. If you need a new hard drive I can get you one, I have plenty of them. Give me a call. 210-651-5977. Let me know how it works out.

Thanks for all the input. I believe it's a sensitivity issue. I have had this problem in other systems that had a parameter to adjust the amount of time required for the system to hear a DTMF tone before it accepts it as a DTMF tone. If the parameter was set too low, a person's voice would sometimes be recognized as a dialed digit. I could not find anything in the manual that addressed this, so I'm glade to hear that tech support can modify it. I will contact our vendor.
