I recently have become the main go to guy on the phone system at my company. I can do some minor programming but often get stumped with the terminology.

I know what needs to be done in my terminology but can't find it in the programming manual without hours of hunting. For instance, I want to make it so that if the front desk doesn't answer the phone in 3 rings that it auto forwards that call to a different extension.

I can't figure out what MMC controls that or how to go about setting it up if there is no MMC for it.

Is there anywhere for me to go to begin at the bottom and learn what I need to know to become a phone guru like I currently am for our network?

Thanks.

Alan

Samsung has schools that cost us a few hundred a pop, the terms are only slightly different than other systems and it took most of us years to get the lingo straight.

I still have to get the books out to this day but thats not saying much

by the way PVJ is correct and the term is call forward no answer

Thanks for the help. MMC 102 might be the solution. I can't remember now at home without the manual but while I was at work it didn't seem like it would duplicate the function from before the braindump. I will look it over again.

Your problem could be that although the front phone rings,it could be ringing because its a member of a group, not ringing directly to that phone. In that case you need to find out which group is ringing (mmc 406) and assign a next destination to that group to another group or phone(mmc 600 if 500 is the ring group or mmc 601 if grop 501-529).Group number can be different depending on the system but you get the idea.

Yes, I do get the idea. I believe group 500 is ringing but I didn't realize what that message on the phone meant until your post.

I'll take a look at MMC 406 in the morning too.

Thanks, this is a great help.
