Again The_Assistant,are you a tech or an end user?I know which way I'm leaning.
Nobody here owes you anything,we just try to help out when we can.I don't have every answer to every question if I did I'd be working in Samsungs tech support.
Phonman123 your comments were way out of line to ev607797 and I hope you realize that.

wrichey, I started this thread saying
"I have an idcs 500 system running on a PRI line(23 trunks)"

Sorry, I should of said "Samsung idcs 500 system" but I thought that since this was a Samsung forum, it was kind of implied.

The " pri setup to ring specific numbers on specific channels" has to be done at the Carrier's level correct? MMC 406 or any other MMC would not apply to this?

If I understand what your saying correctly. When you dial into a DISA line, you will get a DISA dial tone however at this stage you do not have the ability to call another station or make an outbound call until you enter the station number and password?

I would not want someone to accidentally dial this number and have access to the system.

this is a samsung forum you are correct and I didnt ask for your system that was an example. In your past posts however is were I gathered all other info I needed like versions on cards and how your pri is set up. The same question remains are you an end user or??

Yes the pri needs to be set up for did on a specific number and the channel is set up by the lec

and yes that is a security feature which is why you need a passcode and it cant be default. Why would you want disa there is no advantage to it for a home office they still have to dail the company number and it will hold up two lines if they are using it outbound anyway? it is the cheap way out of e&m tie lines. I would spend the money upgrading the system with and mgi and give the home office an itp phone.

I am absolutely stunned with the attitude of the assistant and phonman123. Eva stepped in and offered some assistance. Believe it or not, we moderators are not paid to help out here. We do it of our own free will and on our own time.
Assistant, it might be a good idea to look into actually hiring a competent tech or taking the time to get yourself certified.
Frankly, I am amazed that, given your attitude, any of the long term and experienced members of this board are continuing to help you out.

I would venture to guess that the reason ed stepped up was because he saw a need.

I have been watching the assistants posts and would venture another guess that others here have too and this is why the help does not flow well for him. No body likes to help if its like pulling teeth to get info.

Point one of your DID numbers to an analog station port that is connected to an analog trunk port that is configured for DISA.

ev607797, that was actually a lot of help.

Thank you for responding. I now can contact the carrier and see if this is something I can get setup.

Thanks.

I have not said anything negative towards ev607797 and I started out giving the specs and setup. However for some reason everyone is acting nuts and trying to nitpick at everything.

Where I'm from (Georgia) we treat people right and help others out. ev607797 tried to help me out and I thanked him for his help.

He was the only person willing to help me out. Why do you want to tear his head off because he was from another Forum on another system?

It seems like there are a lot of paranoid people in this forum. This is suppose to be about helping others out not coming here and posting insults.

The Assistant,
Nobody has accused you of offending ev607797.Those comments were pointed at phonman123.

Quote "It seems like there are a lot of paranoid people in this forum. This is suppose to be about helping others out not coming here and posting insults."

You have been asked many times if you are a tech or an end user.Yet you refuse to answer our questions regarding that. This board is to help out BUT it is not designed to replace your service company on complex technical issues to end users.Like I said previously,we go to class to learn these systems. It's actually how we make a living. If someone tried to replace your job making a living I'm sure you'd feel a little differently about it.

So again
1)Are you a tech or an end user?
2)When you ask a question, state the type of system you have it makes it easier to help out, the systems are not all capable of the same features.
3)Understand this is not our fulltime job,we have customers to service.
4)Respect us in these guidlines and you'll get respect (and answers) back.

Attitude is everything and if you reread your second post in this thread and don't understand that then
