Hello Folks,
I recentely installed 2 500's with a VPN network connection between them.
NODE A: Has the voicemail-SVMi-8+8portVPM.
MGI-3 card, 2 PSU-b's ,

Oh, the easy description is that I cloned it from the iDCS 500 R2 manual /Special Applications Section pages 2.13.11 the ONLY thing I modified is the Node ID (oo5 & oo6).
It works great for calling, trnsf between nodes, if you leave a MSG @ remote node keyset indicates a MSG BUT when you press the MSG key the system goes to the VM,yet plays the main greeting day & nite. Samsung STA says that I have the sys config'ed properly along w/some friends in FLA. I even tried changing the station group for the VM from 5029 to 529 w/all LCR applicable changes also...she did not like that...& it did not work.
Has anyone else had a problem w/4digit extensions & remote VM????????????
Thanks for ANY assistance, Michael

I've never met a glutton for punishment <well the old timers at Samsung know some secrets> but two 500s where people should be milking cows and enjoying the fresh air?

Quite obviously the digits identifying the extension are not getting passed through to the voicemail so it answers with the main greeting.

I don't think there is a program anywhere that lets you change the extension identification being sent out, and an old digit grabber won't work here.

How many remote phones are there and do any of them go to the voicemail box correctly?

Do you have IP phones off a card at the remote location and do they ID correctly?

Did you ever move cards around in the remote location or did you build it from scratch?

One possible fix to try, suck down the programming and push it back up.

Why? Well we had a 50si that according to competent tech support was programmed perfectly. All kinds of glitches. Power down did not help. He modemed into it, downloaded it, looked at the file and pushed it back up saying it was perfect. All problems vanished. No reason, no explanation, it just worked. Worth a try, can't lose anything but all the programming and you know how reliable PCs are. Good luuucck.

Maybe, maybe, maybe.

Samsung should have an event tracer in their r&d if not in taaxas.

Should they choose to do so, (time and money) you could email the configuration to them and they could set up two systems using your software load and see what happens on the event tracer when they press the MW button.

Sending the software is easy, setting up to cabinets is quick and easy, they must have an event tracer to debug.

Now comes the question that will decide if this will happen or not:

Are you someone who buys enough every quarter that they would be hurt if you didn't buy Samsung or are you another one of the hordes that buy and install and keep them in their jobs but are one of the "little people."

I am assuming that you are useing a SVMI voicemail. If so I would open up the port activity screen on the voicemail when you press the remote vmmsg key any then you can see if the digits are coming over or not. If they are coming over it could be something in the svmi menu path setting that they route through.

The reason it is doing that is because on the system that has the centralized voicemail does not have the mailboxes of the remote locations installed. When you press the voicemail button it sends the station number to the voicemail card. When the voicemails sees there is not mailbox for that extension installed, it reverts to the main greeting. Go into your open block table and add those mailboxes. There is a way around this, but this is the easiest way for right now.

The application is for 2 schools (we get a lot of $ for cows & bottled fresh air).
The voicemail IS recieveing the digits...I set Direct Trunk to ID CID & route to MBX per CID & added #??? trns MBX to the mix...did the same for Direct Station & then put 1 particular station into the DT DS & the Day Main Menu route to MBX....WILL NOT GO.
VM shows ALL remote mbx's innsubscriber list with all links (ext-mbx) ans Standard ECL & MCL.
The port activity screen shows the CID grab, ID & preferred route...the next script line shows "invalid" & by set-up loops back to Menu per time range setting.
System DID automaticly load all remote MBX's, so interaction is present @ sub-base program level.
I love my job...I hate Korean software!

So you can connect your laptop into the voicemail, go into open block table, then mailboxes, and you see the remote mailboxes listed there?

Yes all MBX's are there, they were ascertained automatically by the system main node from the remote node without my touching it- besides Restart Commands. All are Standard ECL / MCL.
Actually you can view all extensions & their mailboxes = styles via "Subscriber Information" off the main NAV page.
