Hello Group,

I have been reading the forums and I think I have answered my question. But I need your help. My Cadence unit has a solid red light and from my understading that means the software is not running. From my reading if I connect serial cable to the unit I should be able to get information from it?

Second half of my delima is that there doesn't seem to be anyone in my area to support the samsung key system phone switch. I would appreciate it if anyone on this board new of anyone or company in las vegas that does.

You may have a pooched hard drive in it.You can connect a serial cable to it and try rebooting it and see what you get.If you end up with mini cmd> you have a problem.You can usually hear the hard drive spinning under normal circumstances so take a listen.

More information when I shut the system off and then turn it back up. The card fires up but I hear a knocking when the harddrive is trying to spin. Not good with a normal pc. I will try to connect a serial cable and see what I get.

I'd say the hard drive is done.They sound like a click/clunking noise when they stop working.

alright the next question since I have inharited this switch if I were to get a new drive..where do I buy the software or how do I get a copy?

You cant, unfortunatly you have to buy the whole card or get yours repaired. Another thought is an external vm. Sorry frown

You should still be able to get a drive from a Samsung dealer.I believe they are still available but they ain't cheap frown

Which system is it in?If its a 50Si then I would just stick an SVMi4e in there.
