True story that you reminded me of: a pilot in a tiny prop place radioed the tower and said he was disoriented and lost. The tower guided him in the direction he should take towards the airport and thought he had spotted him. "Are you a Skymaster (model of plane.)?" asked the tower.
"Hell no, I'm just a student pilot and this is my first solo flight." I noticed the similarity.
