I've heard more than one complaint from a caller that when leaving a message on our SVMi-8E that they did not hear the tone after which they are to begin speaking. They hear the message, "Recording", but no tone. So, they sit and wait, then after about 10 seconds hear, "To review, press 1; to continue recording, press 2... etc." I have also had this happen to me when recording a system greeting. It's an intermittent problem. Most of the time you hear the tone. Any ideas?

I would call the Samsung Tech Support guys. My guess is that they would walk you through defaulting the system. It sounds like some pointers a messed up. Before you do that you might try and delete the box with the issue and add it back in.

If all else fails, rerecord the "Recording" prompt to say: "Please start speaking now and ignore any beeps you hear, this is a Samsung voice mail cleared by Korean quality control."

For some reason, I keep thinking that there is a setting in each user's box that is a tone allow flag...durn old age got me again, just can't remember!

I finally thought of it! The last time I ran across this: the only way to resolve it was to identify the boxes that were the issue, delete them, do a maint on the VM and create new boxes

OK, thanks for the tips, especially Bunnie's, though I won't try that one until the day I don't plan to work here any longer. ;-)
