I am installing an ATI-D for an IST(cordless), and wanted to use line group 1(dial-9) for line access. If I use line group access, the system automatically assumes hybrid mode. Does hybrid mode change the line buttons on all system phones?
Would I have to reprogram each system phone for line groups?

Or should I just use prime line and idle line preference and do a switchook flash for intercom dial tone?

Trying to make it as easy as possible for the end user(elderly woman)

No, no, leave it at intercom!

Thats what I'd like to do but my 1912 manual tells me that in order to get outside access from intercom dial tone, you have to assign lines to a line group. When you do that it automaticaly throws the system into hybrid mode.

My question was, will I then have to program all system stations for group access?
Does the user have to use intercom for outside access or do the lines stay squared on system phones.

Put your lines in a LG. All stations will remain square. There's no setting for group access that I'm aware of. If you're unsure of programming changes, connect a LT and do a backup first.

The Comdial digital phones will only go into hybrid mode if you take all line appearences off of them. Leave the digital phones alone and just program your lines into a l;ine group. On the ati it will default to intercom dial tone first then press 9 and you are all set.
