Wow, haven't heard of that program in a long time. I remember you had to upload to cadence a file which allows you to connect using fastlynx. Basically transfer the file onto candence using hyperterminal and put in in the root directory. This file should be an executable I believe. Then I think you have to quit Cadence first by pressing control Q while connected in hyperterminal. This will allow you to run the executable you copied to it. Once that is running you should be able to connect to Cadence with the fastlynx program. Sorry I don't have more detailed instructions on this, I only used it a couple of times about 6 years ago. Just so you know, the CMU program (which we all know never worked) does work though you have to keep trying like 50 times to get it to upload. Always worked on the download though. Good luck.

You have a bad hard drive? Critical info on the HD?
Samsung still has Cadence hard drives for sale, they should give you the program with a new hard drive.
Maybe you could send it to a hard drive recovery firm (google them) and have them load it onto a new hard drive or used hard drive of the same size.

If the drive says >mini cmd when you connect with hyperterminal your out of luck, forgot to mention that. Not sure but it's possible to get another drive and ghost it though if it's a bad drive then it won't work.

When you get a new hard drive, have it cloned before you install it so you aren't doing it again in two years.
