Allright,

Yes there is no legal problem with the facts that those phones are recorded in our setup. It is used in an air traffic control environment and they have to be recorded at all time for liability.

Now that pin 24 is on the bottom expanssion if look at the phone being upright. Getting a ground on the pcb itself is not a big deal, I would just rather have one on one of the other 28 pins so that I would'nt have to open the phone and keep the warranty seal intact.

I did not try to bring this to the recorder yet, because the one I have is presently dead and I am waiting on another one.

The recorder will work with either a phone input or a 600ohms balanced audio input.

The reason why I do not want to use a suction cup thingie from radio scrap or anything that taps into any speaker (headset or handsfree) is that it needs to be recorded regardless of which one is used with the same level of output.

I must tell you that not many people have taken the time to check the pins on the expansion slot (we just take for granted that they work) for audio but if you are so inclined then yes there should be a pin for in and a pin for out + a ground but I doubt we would have that info for you because we just dont go that deep into the phones workings ya know.

Good luck and let us know what you find, as the information would be useful here for us as well.

The air traffic control item would have explained a lot if mentioned previously and I'm glad I won't have to spend time in jail for helping you bug the cops. A phone input is 600 ohms, don't know if it is balanced.

Finding that there is an audio output on the expansion board is quite clever and I would not have tried to look there. The warranty seal is not a big deal, why not just open it up, trace the pin back to where you could solder, add a ground wire and perhaps find a location where you could drill a hole and insert a 3.5 mm headset jack.

Alternatively you could probably solder onto the outside pairs of the phone jack and use a two pair cord to the wall and backfeed it to the mdf and thus to the recorder.

You certainly should be able to take it from here, you found the solution yourself and Mazel Tov.

I know, I have yet to perfect my isotope powered linear fat demobilizer with the painless surface corona discharge because the KQF-9 anular teflon coating keeps catching fire when I touch skin to it.

Bummer.

Sorry guys if I did'nt get back to you.

The solution we chose was simple (but expensive). We just went with a new recorder that handles a Samsung switch and it works like a charm.
