The company I work for used to be a Samsung dealer. I've put in quite a few DCSs most and most of them are still going strong.
About 5 years ago for various reasons they shifted to the Avaya line. Now we are installing the IP office and in my opinion it is not the greatest system.
The Samsung DCS has always been my favorite system, the ones we have out in the field are rock solid (except for the cadence problems).

I have never seen a iDCS and am looking for opinions on how it compares to the DCS, how reliable it is, how is it to program, how is it at networking, etc.
My hope is that I can get some data to go to the Braintrust and say lets take a look at the iDCS.
and maybe they will let me get one in here.
Any thoughts are welcome,
Thanks

If you liked the DCS I think you will love the iDCS products. They programm the same for the most part (from the phone) But the new PC interface (officeserv manager)is a huge improvement. The reliability is still very good and the voice-mail systems are much better.

I've heard of horror stories about Avaya IP office, good luck. As for the iDCS it is a great product. As reliable as the DCS and lots and lots of new features and capabilities. The IP isn't too shabby either.

We have a lot of iDCS systems out there and they are as rock solid as the DCS systems. Most of the programming is exactly the same. All the MMCs are the same they just add some more with the iDCS line.

You sure don't have to go to any trouble to be an independent dealer any longer or meet quotas.
The whole business model has changed and you can play one master dealer off another to get the best discount. Any master dealer can get you into tech school and the voicemails are better than the Cadence.

Look in the Gear or Mart for dealers and interview them, quite a change from going hat in hand to see if you will be accepted and then had to meet a quota.

I don't think the programming is built for minimum wage people who need help tying their shoes, but if you can do Avaya, you can do Samsung.

Thanks for the replies,
I spoke with the braintrust at the shop today and I think that they may be open to looking at it.
I know that they spend a pretty penny to get some of us IP Office certified, I just hope that the tech school for Samsung isn't a dealbreaker.
I'll so some looking around for dealers and see what I can find.
Benb, I have some IPO horror stories of my own.
Thanks again.
