Before I send this out for repair we would like to see if there is something we have not thought of or have forgotten. The unit boots and displays ext# date and time but cannot call another station trunk and will not allow you into programming. We would appreciate suggestions. Thanks

Were are you going barcher.

If the ram is good and your repair center says its good I would make them prove it.

I would also check the eproms and make sure they are not burnt or seated wrong.

is the adapter you are using shorted anyplace?

just some more thoughts

One assumes you have turned OFF the RAM memory, powered down, and ran MMC 811 after you powered up.

One assumes you have tried a different RAM memory cartridge.

One assumes you have removed any Misc, 2SLi, 4 Cop and there is no connection to any expansion card. By taking it down to a bare minimum intercom system and adding in one card at a time you may find a card that has a default.

I once had an old Tie 2260 that would do nothing until I removed a 4 CO card which Tie tech support told me could not possibly bring down a system.

A PCOU dial tone card brought down an entire DK system even though it was not possible.

You never know what taking out those innocuous little cards can do, especially when tech support says it can't be the problem.

Today we had a DCS three cab unit go down from an electrical problem in the factory. Who would guess that the software had fried as well as the power supply an everything else was working as usual?

Strange things happen in these units and taking them down to a bare bones intercom only system to see if even that works and then bringing it up one card at a time is an easy detective job.

Also, have you swapped the power supply even if you have checked the fuses. It may have enough power to run the display but not power the intercom?

Betcha ten bucks you can solve this if you swap ram, power supply and remove all cards but the motherboard. Wanta bet or do you think it is a sure thing?

So rons, did you ever break this down and find the problem or was it more effort than you wanted to put into solving the problem?

thank you all for responding. I appreciate the help. Looks like it needs a little more work, so I'm sending it off to Telesource for diagnosis and repair.

Thanks again
Ron
