It has been my experience that the timers for the door box are not correct in default. we have had to change these settings to get it to work. Have you looked at the times?

Hi.

I do have the manual but the problem is the manuals seem to be incorrect and inconsistent with the information I’m getting.

Even the manuals are inconsistent with the other manuals for other Samsung phone system with same door phone.

Thank you for the great instructions.
I did follow the instruction on this board (and not the manuals) and the door phone seems to be working (kind of) however I must say I’m not very happy with the door phones.

They seem to be technically working but they are really not that great.

By default, they have this absolute horrible feedback loud sound, which is on all the time unless you adjust the settings.

They seem to be outsourced to a company that does not have any of the same quality normally associated with the Samsung phones or Samsung systems.

The door phones are cheaply built and are not at all like the other products associated with the Samsung telecommunication products.

I mean they barely work.( I mean barely). You really can’t hear the person-talking if your using the door phone (forget about using this with the speaker phone).

If you are on the phone listening to a person on the door phone, there is an awkward squeaking sound at the end of every conversation.

Please don’t get me wrong, I love the Samsung system, programming logic, phone, reliability however these door bell phones don’t feel like they are Samsung.

Does anyone know of a 3rd party door phone manufacture that may integrate to an open SLI or Trunk port on the system? That may be the way to go with these door pones.

Thanks for all the instructions on getting these door phone working. Now at least the phone rings when people are a door, which is very important.

Viking makes some nice doorboxes, www.vikingelectronics.com but I seriously doubt you have bad doorboxes.

I would bet dollars to donuts that you don't have it wired correctly. As much as I harp about the dingbat management, the doorboxes work right the first time out of the box.

Lets try the connections one more time.

If you hold the cord in your hand with the plug facing away from your body, and with the tang (little clip) facing down, gold pins up from left to right, here is the wiring:

Leftmost wire to P-
Next wire to the right to P+
Next wire to the right to L1
Rightmost wire to L2

If that fixes everything have a Becks for me, if not let me know.

Thank you for the information.

Is this an alternative configuration to try?

You have not experienced any problems with the door phones?

Please see if you can follow my logic.

1. The door bell attaches to 4 wires lets call them ( A, B,C,D)
2. These 4 wires(A,B,C,D) attach to the DPIM door phone port(A,B,C,D)
3. The DPIM outputs 2 wires( B,C) to the phone system.

Please let me know if you follow me so far.

I’m trying to figure out what connections are (A,B,C,D) on the door bell? There is so much talk about backwards wiring and nonstandard method used, its hard to figure out what is correct.

Are you saying that:

A= P1-
B = P+
C= L1
D= L2

Instead of what was suggested above in the thread such as:

A= P-
B= P+
C= L2
D= L1

So its P+ and L1 are the middle 2( not P+ and L2 ?)

So its basically switching L1 and L2 position?

I will take another look at it in the morning.

Please let me know if I understand this correctly.

Thanks for your help.

Please don't try to make this complicated.

The info I posted was as simple as I could make it.

There are four wires, as you hold the jack away from you, contacts up, the two contacts on the left go to the P's and the two on the right go to the L's.

If you want to PM me with your fax number I will send as big a drawing as I can fit on the page.

The Samsung doorboxes work all the time out of the box, all you have to do is have 100% correct wiring on all 4 wires and bingo, its done.

If I had seen a series of bad doorboxes, I would be the first to say so and that is not the case.

I’ agree with Bunnie it’s simple just follow the wiring like BacherJr posted (is the best explication I’ never seen for this device).We’re many installers in Canada and U.S. who’s already makes this doors box module workings. Each time you do changes in the wiring just Reset this door box module (unplug the DLI port in the back).Don’t forget if w’r using the line phones lines cords,the both ends must have the same pinouts (Yelow,Green,Red,Black). Please don't try to make this complicated.

I think it works. It rings the group define in MMC 211. There is 2-way audio. The feedback goes away if I turn down the volume settings on the door phone.

Does your have feedback out of the box?

I tried to follow the instructions down to the wire with:

Pin 1 =P- (Solid orange wire)

Pin 2 =P+ (Strip Blue wire)

Pin 3= L1 (Solid Blue Wire)

Pin 4= L2 (Strip Orange wire)

To Recap.

My Orange wires are a Pair with( P- and L2)
My Blue wires are a pair with ( P+ and L1)

with Pin 2&3 as 1 pair and Pin 1&4 as the other pair.

If this is incorrect, I'll let you have my fax number and you can send me that diagram.

My understanding is that each pair will carry a P and an L.

I'm sorry if it sounds like I'm making things complicated, its just that we have 4 connections and 4 wires and I'm simple trying to make sure I have them in the correct positions.

Thanks.
