problem is a constant, irregular ticking noise on calls made over any IP handset (wired and wireless). This occurs on calls going out over the network, ie calls which go through the MGI card. This problem does not occur on any calls made from one IP handset to another IP handset. Calls made from digital handsets are not affected. We have also experienced dropout in the middle of call WIP and IP handsets

ok, calls made from one IP station to another to do use MGI channels. The source of your problem seems to be the MGI. To test this set MMC 845 to use MGI channel YES. Then call IP station to station and see if ticking occurs.
If the ticking does occur, the try reseting the MGI card using MMC 841.
If the problem still persists, I would call samsung to replace the card.
Mitel, Samsung, CTP+ and A+ Certified.

Provide the answers: "Out over the network" Explain network. Is this site networked to another system or network being to the "outside world".
Please answer...
1. Internal IP phone to internal IP phone, is there a problem? 2. Internal IP to internal TDM phone, is there a problem? 3. Outside telco line connection is done by... 4. WIP is this the 5000?
- Unless I am wrong...IP to IP uses no MGI channels only the processor - IP to TDM uses MGI - IP to outside telco (T1/loop start lines) uses MGI - WIP5000 uses IP - WIP5000 to IP phone, problem? - WIP5000 to telco, problem?
Are all the ports open on the IT side.
If you find that the issue is any IP call to either a TDM or telco then the issue is with the MGI. Verify software settings and codec compression(G.729)or G.711). Make sure IT has their QOS set for voice
Then again, I could be dead wrong also...

The Australian Samsung Distributor has been issuing modified cards to deal with this problem, (or something that sounds very similar).
I would check with your local distributor and see if there has been a general hardware fault recognised (and fixed) by Samsung.
