Does anyone have the cure for the speaker key issue?

I know that the ans/rls key was removed for a reason but I don't know that reason.

Here is the problem. All phones are set to ring instead of auto answer. System is an os100 with the latest software. Programming is square. If you transfer a call eg:201 receives the call then presses the station to transfer to. Receiving station gets the ring and chooses not to lift the handset but instead press the speaker key. The speaker key does not answer the call, instead it grabs internal dial tone. The receiving phone HAS TO lift the handset to answer the call.

thanks for your answers in advance

Is the phone a Navigator version?

Pressing the "Send" button will answer a ringing call in handsfree mode.

Why not teach the users to answer with the flashing green call key?

I thought about that, and it may end up that way.

Thanks for the input.

Or you could assign them an ans/rls button if they have any available button real estate.

"Button real estate" should be put into the telecommunications dictionary. Funny how we all seem to use the same terms.
