In the past I have always wanted to use Samsungs User Guides for customers, but the problem was we would change programming that would not be reflected in the User Guide. After many e-mails to Samsung, they told me they would not unlock the PDF files.(due to copyright issues) I just found www.zamzar.com, a website that converts files and sends converted file to your e-mail. NO software to download. What a great site.

Ya, that is the main reason why I would try to stay clear of changing too much so that the user guide still made sense. If I made any changes I would let the customer know what they were. Thanks for the idea on creating a custom user guide.

I would just watch the email thing. You might be unknowingly giving it to a company that will sell it to the "spammers"

A very simple way to continue to use the user guides even though you have "Custom Numbered" the site is, instead of completely changing the feature code just add a * in front. (ie. *19 = LNR) Then all you have to do is tell the customer to add a * in front of the feature code.

Not positive, but I believe the Adobe Reader or Accrobat or whatever that you BUY to make .pdfs, has the ability to take apart a .pdf, let you modify it and keep it as a new .pdf.
If you want old Samsung printed user guides, I have a lot of spares for sale cheap.

Even the full version of acrobat won't crack open the Sammy .pdf
I have re-created a simplified UG in word. We use the booklet maker feature of our copy machine to print these on demand. I think you can get this done at Kinko's as well.
These guides are then customized for every customer. I would be glad to share if you want to send me a private e-mail.
