I have a DCS with one expansion cabinet. The software that I'm running is ROM 2003-10-27 V4.8, CPM 2001-9-24 V4.4 and LPM1 2001-9-24 V4.4. The problem is every morning when the customer comes in the expansion cabinet is not recognize by the main cabinet. therefore everything that is working out of it is down. I have to either reset the system or unplug the cable between the two cabinets. I have changed out the power supplies in both, I changed out the cable between them, and have changed out both the A and B expansion cards. The system retains all its programming for the expansion cabinet and work fine after the reset. I'm have the following cards in the system. Pwr supply 60, C1, C1, DLI, DLI, DLI, SVMI-8, EXP-A. The expansion has 60, DLI, DLI, DLI, SLI and EXPB. I have defaulted the system and reprogramed it with no luck. I am running out of ideas :bang:

Thanks, no I have not yet. The reason I haven't is the system runs fine as a single cabinet. But I think I can get my hands on a spare ROM. Good thing I did a down load of the system. Any other ideas?

MJRosko,
had they same problem along time ago. I reversed the cabs, making the exp the main. The problem moved .Found a bad cab backplane.

I don't beleave that the main cabinet and the expasion are interchangable, I will need to look at that. But to answer you question No I hadn't tryed that.

They are not interchangeable, the expansion cabinet does not have a slot for the ROM card. The CPM chip for the main cabinet is 32 pins, the expansion cabinet is equipped for the LPM which is 28 pins.

MJRosko:
Please let us know what you found out!
The DCS is a GREAT System and the older ones will (may) start to see some unusual problems.
