I have a customer that has an SVMI 4 1.3 R4. All of a sudden out of the blue when someone goes to a mailbox from an external call (whether transfered and no answer or by using the VT key) the generic "I'm sorry the call was not answered,,,,,,,," message comes up and gives the caller several options one of which is to press 1 to leave a message. When 1 is pressed you then here the users mailbox greeting. I need to find a way to get this greeting out of there so it just goes to the users greeting. They do not have the option for putting a busy greeting or a no answer greeting in their mailbox. Just the standard mailbox greeting. I have a system just like theirs and it does not do this. I have seen it do this on the newer SVMI but never on an older version. Any suggestions?

You are missing a greeting somewhere. You may need to access the SVMi screen and see if a different greeting has been assigned.

That prompt with options you are hearing comes from the ECLASS block. On the older SVMI4's it is a hidden menu option. I usually leave the options checked and remove the prompts so it doesn't play all that junk before the greeting. I'm not going to post here how to look at that menu block that is hidden but I would check to make sure that there isn't a duplicate entry for that extension in the subscriber list. Is it doing that for every mailbox or just one? When in doubt too remove all the data off of the flash drive that is needed. Default it then copy the data back on. I've seen this fix numerous wierd issues with the svmi4's.

Thanks Ben. I have used the unhide command with the forward menus in the past but I keep getting a bad argument for the ecl so I'm not using the right syntax. PM me with the correct syntax if you don't mind. It is doing it for all the mailboxes so it is probably is in the Eclass.
