I don't like using the automatic backup on any system. I keep a good backup copy offsite and when I'm onsite I'll back it up to the card. It's possible that a database could become corrupted over time and with autobackup on it would copy a corrupted database onto the card without any one knowing. Then the card database is no good. That's why I don't like turning on the auto back up.

I agree with Benb. In a perfect world, autobackup would be great, but in reality there are other factors that can corrupt a database and the auto backup would overwrite a good bakup in one of these scenarios.

I also agree with Benb,

I don't use the autobackup. I will do it manually
if I make any changes. That way if the cpu crashes
I know that I have a decent back up on the flash.

I make a backup to my PC and then to the SM before I leave. That way if something goes wrong, you can recover either way. If you do the SM first and you mess up the sequence, your in a hurt. I never use the Auto. All the posts above are "right on"

I never set automatic backup. Samsung si notoriously 'buggy', especially with new releases. I recommend manually saving data to Smrt media AND laptop or remote regularly. I generally take a save before any hardware changes, or major program stuff, ie LCR, AA, DID.
