Hi folks,

We've got a 7400 with about 65 digital keysets and 3 IP phones (large screen). All of them work fine, but with one of the IP phones (the only one at a remote location), for some reason its settings for station call forward (MMC 102) keep changing, and we can't figure out why. It was set like so:

Forward Type: Busy/No Answer
All Forward: [both fields blank]
Busy Forward: 549/blank
No Answer Forward: 549/blank
DND Forward: 549/blank

(where 549 is forwarding to the SVMi)

What's weird is the No Answer Forward keeps changing to 544...for no apparent reason! At first we thought it was user error, so disabled the user's ability to change those settings on their phone (figured they were dialing a number without getting an outside line, and managed to switch things accidentally) but now it's happened even after we disabled the ability for the station to change those settings.

The preset call forwarding is also set to 549 - those haven't changed. We've tried removing the station call forwarding for all except DND, but still no luck. 544 still shows up.

Anyone know what might be causing this?

Thanks!
Deep (just a guy)

Have you copied the configuration to the media card after putting it back to 549? Sounds like it's stuck in memory. Are you using WebMMC to make the changes? I have seen isuues with certain areas where I've made changes and save them and they disapear on their own. I would try putting it to 549 just in MMC 316 then do a database copy to the media card, then reboot the system and see if the change is still correct. If not you have a corrupted database. In that case I would do a default of the RAM and then copy the database back in.

Thanks Ben! Yes, our guys did put it in via WebMMC - we'll see if doing it via the phones makes a difference. The settings, however, seem to last few a few weeks, then revert again. That's why we're not sure if the reboot will help. But we'll definitely try a download to the media card (as well as a backup via WebMMC), and also try the reboot.

Thanks again,

How many 7400 cabinets you’ve? If it only one for the voice mail is 529 not 549 it’s a MUST.

Interesting. We've only got one. But why does it matter if it's 529 vs. 549?

One cabinet or two or three, 549 would be correct as long as you have not changed your st group numbering plan. I think the WebMMC issue may be more down the right track. Mathrap, i think u are referrring to 500 system with a difference between M and L software. 7400 should always be 549.

Mathrap, I'd like to see the manual you're talking about. The 7400 out of the box has 549 set as the svmi group. Are you saying you change the group to 529 to fix the same problem? His forwarding is changing to something different. I have to go with Sam Sung on this one, 549 is the correct group on the 7400 and 539 is the correct group on the 7200.

Interesting - it says for a 7400-M system it should be 529 and for a 7400-L system it should be 549...but what's the M vs. L system? How do I know which we have?
