Anyone know of any Networking issues with MGI3's on system 500's utilizing different software versions such as 2.69 and 2.63?

We upgraded a 500 to 2.69 that is networked with two other 500's and a 7200. The other 500' are running version 2.63.

The MGI's stopped communicating with each other.

Has anyone ever experienced this?

I've had 3 7200 running on different versions. 1 on 2.69 & the others on 2.67h. But that was for only an hour or so, but it still worked.

Best bet is to upgrade all sites. That should cure the problem

Yep. All was running fine under this scenerio for about a month and then today, all went nuts!

Perhaps it's a different issue but I thought it might be different versions of software...

Yah, you NEVER wanna network systems on different sw levels. If you upgrade one or add one, upgrade all 3.

This has been discussed, MCP version 2.69 requires the latest version of firmware on the MGI cards.

Forgot to mention... you SHOULD run the same versions on all switches.

Ive had two OS100's 2.60 networked to 2.66 faultlesly for over six months but I recently upgraded the 2.60 system to 2.70 due to an anoying 2.60 problem with not being able to change the system IP. Sounds like I better upgrade the MGI's now.

However networking 2.46 to 2.60 was a disaster.

Funny our customers dont seem to want to pay us to upgrade their systems every week.
