Has anyone found a way to secure the SVMI card in a DS 16 cabinet. If there is any vibration on the wall at all they will work loose. I have one customer that has a train track right behind their building and it causes a lot of vibration in the building.

The only way I knew of was the foam backings on the lid it self. Or you might try putting a strap around the cab if there is that much vibration.

What about the trunk card and interface card are they working loose too? I can hardly pull the SVMI2e out of the one in the shop.
There might be excessive vibration because the cabinet "hangs". I would drill a hole to the right of the power supply and screw the bottom to the wall. The bottom of the cabinet is most likley bouncing when a train goes by.

CMDL that is exactly what I did on my DS16 installs using what looks like a little knock out on the cabinet. Drill in a screw and the bottom of the cabinet secures to the wall. I agree though, the svmi-2's sit pretty firm in their slots.

This is the second one I have doing this. I also drill a hole in the back of the cab and run a sheetrock screw throught it. Most of the SVMI's are tight but this one is not.

Is it possible that you drilled the bottom of the cabinet in to tightly thus slightly warping the backplane? That might cause some issues with the connectors not lining up properly. Just a thought.

 I am not flaming but dang that was funny. Why? because I have seen that before.

Cracker: That is the only thing I could come up with but be careful. The foam has to be non conductive and not covering any areas prone to heat up (try just over the pins at the peg supports)
