Hey all, I have been reading a bunch of posts, You have a nice site here.
I need a litle help with an ITP setup. I have installed plenty of 100/7200's networked or with ITP phones and have had pretty decent luck, but I am currently stuck on an install.
It is a 100 sw 2.69 with mgi16 1.17. I am installing 3 remote ITP phones, 5121's, at a second location behind a router. Up until now my setups have only had 1 ITP phone per remote site and worked 1st time out.
With this site I can get 1 phone to work behind the router, but the additional phones won't work. I have verfied they all work set up locally. Setting the phones to pulic addresses, or putting the phones behind seperate routers works also. When looking in 840, if a set gets both 6000 and 9000 the phone will work, the others are getting assigned different signal and voice ports and will have the one way audio.
Of course Samsung will not recommend a router but says that is most likely my problem. I have tried it with the customers intellinet wireless router, a cheap linksys router and a netgear wireless from my house. I took the phones to a computer company a buddy owns, we tried it on a netgear vpn router he tests with and a wireless linksys.
I was able to get the phones to work somewhat behind his linksys router if I only have one conversation at a time and I can intercom between the itp sets with use mgi turned off but not on. This was done with the system setup with public IP addresses to eliminate any extra hardware causing problems.
I really need some recommendations on what routers work well on the system end and the remote ends and any router setup settings for the remote end.
I can get them running if they get more public IP addresses on the remote end but I would rather do it right. I am bound to run into this situation again so I best learn it now for the future.
Thanks for taking the time to read a long post, I appreciate it.

Listen to Samsung... it's the router. I recently went through this problem with a customer and his "IT" guy. It took several months for me to get them to try a different router. Changed the router and the problem went away.
I only use Cisco... but they are not cheap. You might get another router to work, but it will be a guessing game. One thing is for sure... stay away from Netgear. Netgear routers are known for causing problems.

It varies... but in the past we were using a lot of Pix 501's. I've also used SOHO's.

Netopia R910's work fine too and are a little cheaper than Cisco

The customers current router is by intellinet. Looks to be equivilent with the average cheap linksys router. I tried the port triggering on it for 6000, 9000, and 9001 but since the itp phones keep changing to different signal and voice ports I don't see how that could ever work. At one point while I was looking at the voice port on one of the stations in 840 it changed three times within 30-40 seconds.
One of the other dealers I was talking to said that they had 6 phones running behind the Netgear FVS318. I see that I can get one from BestBuy, if others have had luck with it maybe I'll give that one a shot.

I've used Netgear, and all site that are running them are fine. I've even got 4 running from a DG834.
I'm currently trialing a Draytek 2800V, with the QoS set. Hopefully this will work better than the Netgear. As like IPSTroy i've had voice issues but cured them via the port forwarding to each phone.
