Hi everyone, I'm new to this forum. I have come here as a visitor before for troubleshooting tips and found it very helpful. I've been having a problem with an SVMI 16e that is installed in a 500R2 that has 2 cabinets and 2.69 software. Svmi 16 will lock up about once a week. The only way that I can get it to come back up is to reboot the phone switch. There are no signs of anything wrong in the error log or port activity. Is anyone else having this problem or know how to fix it. Any advice would be appreciated. I'm at a dead end right now.

As a temporary fix you can tell the svmi to reboot daily or weekly to see if it helps.

I tried setting it to reboot weekly after maintenace. It rebooted after maintenance on this past Saturday and then it locked up on the very next evening. I thought that would fix the problem too.

Send it back and get another one. I just went through the same thing you did. Just copy what you want from the old one before you take it out.

I sent the card back to Samsung for repair. Sorry forgot to mention that. It was out of warranty. They actually sent me a different used card. The reason I know this is because I marked the card before I sent it to them. I'm still having the same problem. Was the card you got back from Samsung new or used? Did it fix the problem or does yours still lock up?

Different card. We turned off the reset at maint. But so far it has been 6 weeks and no lockups. They might have sent you another bad card. It is not like you can tell by just turning it on. It needs to run for a while with traffic on it. Then BAM it happens.

I think I'm going to call Samsung and let them know the card they sent me has the same problem. Hope they don't send me another DUDD. Thanks for the help.

I am having the same issue. System is about 3 years old. Started happening back at the end of August. It is now happening about every 7-10 days. I'm replacing the hard drive next week. Mine is out of warranty also. Could it be "corrupted" software????

Before I sent the card to Samsung for repair, I did a backup and uploaded to a new svmi16. Had it for about three weeks waiting for the reapaired one to come back and it did not lock up once. Not sure if it's hardware related or software related. I think Samsung knows they have a problem with the first cards they put out and have fixed the problem on the newer cards.

Yah, call support, they need to be upgraded internally. Can't be done in the field.
