After messing around I realized the vt key isn't dialing the extender. which is very odd.

Perhaps you need to reboot the phone after making the program change.

ok I lost my mind....I did an 811 memory reset to try to get the vt key to work. which didn't work however, I created another problem. Now the faxes won't dial out. They ring in but when I dial on the fax I just get a fast busy. I wrote down all the programming in my switch before I did the memory reset. But apparently I missed something.

Worth a try, set the VT button to VT529 in 722 on one extension.

Power down and go back into 722 for that extension and see if it says VT529.

Then try a VT from that phone. If it works, repeat for all extensions using 722 instead of 723.

No guarantee, just a mind fart.

For those of you reading this saga an update...
ok after doing the 811 memory dump....
1. vt key is working. YAY!
2. Voicemail seems to be agreeing with everyone

I however have run into the following:
1. when I take the fax on the port off hook it fast busy when you try to dial.. (what mmc is the hot line in)
2. now Paging doesn't work. (never had any extensions in 604 which according to the programming manual means all zone is set)
3. mmc 723 button 22 is page
4. mmc 724 Page is set to 55

something again has gone loopy.

Hotline is in 306. set the off hook select to 000secs if instant hotline needed.

Have you put any xtns into page groups?
Try a 55* for an all call page.

alright I will close this with. Thank all of you for your help.
To fix the fax ports I used mmc 307 to put in the trunks that go along with the specific fax port number.

To fix the paging I put all the extensions in mmc 604 to put in all the extensions. (Thanks to Connex fo that).

System is purring along nicely. Please une in for my next adventure in telephone programming. I am one with the switch now wink .
