Another telecom. vender bites the dust , and I get a call from one of there old customers. I know nothing about Comdial Impact systems, but a lot about people. They need help! Not a real common system in my neighborhood, I've looked all over town for anyone with a background and good basic knowledge of this product, no luck. I saw in a previous post I will need VMMI software (j wooten) wher can I get it? And I noticed this system has a Vertical debut4 with a phone cord (4 wire)that comes out of com2 on the FXCPU-EX and connects to the debut4, 4pr comes out of the debut4 and connects to the 1st 4 ports of the 25pr cable connecting to the CO card of the cabinet. What the heck is that for? What Im looking to do is set up 2 voice mail boxes for 2 existing ext. I could also realy use a Port/Ext print out. I also need to change the ringing on lines. There is no external modem, I don't know if an internal modem is an option or not. Any help is appreciated!

You will need VMMI for the phone system and KeyLink to program the voicemail.

Thank You, do I need to contact Comdial or are there other sources to obtain it?

Just some Comdial/Vertical Knowledge. On the FX each CO or Station card requires a 25 pair amphenol connector even if it is not using the all of the pairs. The connection to Com2 of the CPU provides a serial connection for soft key functions while in a voicemail box. The other 4 pair is for the physical port connection for the voicemail extensions. You will need VMMI as previously stated to program the phone system ringing and extnsion forwarding to voicemail. This may be hard to get if you are not and authorized dealer. Even if you get it the passwords may have been changed by the previous vendor and only Vertical can change them back to the default, again you need to be an authorized dealer. Lastly if you know who has supervisor rights on their mailbox you can add the new mailboxes via option 6 in the supervisors mailbox. This is not a voiced option. That will still only accomplish part of your request. There is a built in modem but without VMMI you will not be able to access this. I suggest contacting Vertical (Purchased COmdial a While Ago)and see if there is a local delaer who may be able to help you.
