Hi have a SVMI8 with 8 port and fax, but I really don't know how to use the fax block and the libraryan block, I don't know where you put the instruction of receiving a fax? in the menu block? and for a specific user , where you put and how ? in the extension block or in the mailbox block? I can't find any example to show how it is work!! The caller supposed to send the fax while they listen to the svmi?

Please if you can just give a example I really will appreciate

I set DID's in the direct trunk menu to look for the mailbox's i set up for fax's. Then using the email gateway it sends the tif file to the approprate address.

Hi., thank you for the help., but I need to know how I set the menu block to receive faxes?, I mean, in the menu block I have the faxcall, so I have to send to the fax mailbox and then in the mailbox I decide to send the fax using email or using the fax number option?, So If I want to have a fax for a each extension I have to create a menu for each extension?

I have 1 fax machine in my company, I want that when somebody call, the svmi answer and then if it hear a fax tone it redirect the call to the extension of the fax machine, but if it is busy that the svmi take the fax call and then send the fax to the fax extension , it is posible?, or I have to set that always the svmi answer the fax call and after that it send to the fax extension?

Hi.,, Look I have try several thing and I have this question:

- who is the one that will give the tone to receive the fax and negotiate? the svmi card or it has to redirect to the fax machine?, if is the svmi how you specify that the mailbox "9999" is a fax malbox? the test I did is to send a fax to 5029 and when it hear the tone of the fax it transfer to the mailbox 9999 (using FAXCALL GOTO MBX 9999) but this mailbox give me the prompt to record a message !!! how I tell that it mailbox should record fax and not voice message?

one question. what is 5029? a Menu or a Extension.

I had a problem before. I setup one of my DDIs to fax mailbox directly. Every time I rang that DDI. I got a bloody mailbox greeting message. The mailbox didn't detect it was a fax call.
Then I point that DDI to a MENU. in that MENN, set FAXCALL to that FAX mailbox. It works.

Of course. in Mailbox page 3. You need to set Mailbox can receive faxes to “Y”

leonbenarroch, to answer your question, it is the SVMi card that takes the fax.

1) To create a FAX capable mailbox: -

A) Create the mailbox
B) On Page 3 of the Mailbox, set Mailbox can receive faxes and Mailbox can send faxes to 'Y'.

2) Set FAXCALL pointer to point to the fax mailbox: - In Day Main Menu and Night Main Menu, set the FAXCALL pointer to go to Mailbox created in option 1.

3) Send a fax document to the mailbox:-

A) Call the SVMi8 from a fax machine with a document loaded.
B) If calling internally you will have to Press '*' to return to the Day Main Menu or Night Main Menu.
C) Press Start on the fax machine.

4) Retrieve the fax document directly.

A) From the fax machine, call the SVMi8.
B) Press '*' to return to the Day Main Menu or Night Main Menu.
C) Log into the fax mailbox as a user by entering '# and the mailbox number, and then enter the password (generally '0000').
D) Retrieve the fax document by pressing '55', then '1'.
F) Press Start on the fax machine and hang up.

5) Send the fax document to another number.

A) Call the SVMi8, and log in mailbox.
B) Retrieve the fax document by pressing '55', then '2', then the number of the fax machine followed by ‘#’.
C) Make a confirmation by pressing ‘1’ and hang up.
