I'm seriously looking to carry the Samsung product line as a replacement or compliment for Comdial's DX-120. One thing that kept me out of the hotel and school environment was I didn't have a Comdial DXP like system where you could expand it with analog circuit cards.

I'll look over all the posts in this forum before asking questions that have already been hashed over.

You can add SLI cards to the samsung system to expand analog ports.

For example,the idcs 500 can add:

SLI=4 ports
8 SLI= 8 ports
16 SLI = 16 ports

Samsung works good for small hotels but you need to use a 3rd party VM if you need VM for the guest rooms. I haven't had any problems with the SMDR interfacing with most PMS systems. There is a post on here for a PMS that won't work with it though.

Anybody run into restriction issues with the Hotel Motel software, I have a DCS 500 about 10 years its been humming along and now new owners want to restrict only the room phones from long distance but when I attempt this using COS B to G and Toll Deny/Allow I end up restricting the office phones with a COS of 01, room phones are 03 and 1 customer is set to H for in house only.......NEVER HAD a problem with restriction on any Samsung units including the OS series..Baffled.

Inbuilt hotel software on 500 works fine
been using it on one site for yrs now with
print out billing of calls using the serial port.
Even have wake up alarm and voicemail for all rooms via the svmi-8. charging of calls uses the inbuilt charge tables. COS toll deny never an issue Watch out though what type of phones they are programmed as. ie administrator or one of the other classes.
