I've got 3 customers with caller ID problems... Samsung DS16R2 with SIO3, 6 trunk card, one has SVMI the other does not. System has been working for more than a year very stable, no problems. Now after a month or 2 of running the call display stops working. A reboot of the ksu fixes it, and it works again for another month or so.
Any one also experiencing this?

I have gone through and upgraded the software, the SIO and replaced the trunk card and saw no joy. The fix for one location was an easy one. Check your lines for ac and make sure the voltages are within the acceptable ranges. If not put Part # MIS1S on the lines. We found the lines to be too hot. Second location we adjusted the cid receive timer and turned off the call timer in the display. No problems after that.

Think that would also cause the trunks to start hanging up on callers? Happens on inbound - again after a month of normal operation, call rings in normally, they answer it, with in 5 seconds, the line drops. Replaced the trunk card, no change. Swapped out KSU - fixed (so far). It also was temporarily fixed with a reboot... I'm going to check out the line current, thanks for the link to those current/voltage testers and adjusters!

That senario is exactly what hot lines do to those systems. The lines would drop and ring again after hangup. Sometimes the provider just wont turn the heat down on the lines. Their answer is "it's within our specs" but the "specs are 20+ years old. Put the regulators on the lines and it should clear up

I did not catch which software version you said you were using. Version 2.07 says it is suppose to address that CID issue, or atleast something very simular to what you are saying... As for the drop call issue..... Who is the carrier? Are these regular POTS lines or FXS ports in a CSU/DSU? I have had this issue with FXS ports on the Adtran TA (Total Access) 612 (or any of the 600 series) when the carrier is bringing the lines in on a T1. A firmware upgrade on the Adtran fixed the problem, but it was related to loop start setting in the CSU/DSU. Hope that helps..

Follow up:
Samsung has released a version 2.08 for the DS616 and/or DS616r2 (iDCS16 or whatever their wizbang marketing people want to call it). I did not get any details as to what 2.08 fixes over 2.07 but none the less it is the current version.
