We have a customer with an old Prostar DCS and they are looking at installing a T1 for DID. My question is, will the TERPI used in the iDCS 500 also work in the older DCS or will we have to use the DCS T1 card?
Or, what do I need to install a T1/PRI on this older system.
Thanks

I would just like to add in a Samsung DCS system it will only do T1. It will not do PRI. It will not do caller id over the T1. You can only get caller Id on the copper trunk cards. Almost lost a customer with a 3 cab DCS when they wanted to go to PRI with caller Id.

You can do number-only ANI over T1.

By certain carriers im guessing you mean optus.. I've been having this issue and they just refuse to acknowledge the problem and if you strip the 0 in the programming it removes two zeros, the additional and the 0X area code.. arg..
Does anyone know if the PRI from a DCS (aka DCS200) will work in a iDCS 500 (officeserv 500 R2). I've been told I will need to buy a new TEPRI card when we move from the old DCS, or we will get clicking on the line... Does anyone have any feedback on this?

FYI - I tried the "PRI" card in from the DCS to the 500OS and it works fine. Interestingly the extra 0 is gone - obviously its a system fault not a carrier fault.. whoops. Lol

In the ETSI specification for ISDN, sending the leading zero of the phone number with the CLI is stated as an option.
This is because in Europe, when the specification was being developed different manufacturers and countries had different opinions as to whether the leading zero should be sent or not. So it was made optional.
The Samsung system is therefore not faulty, and can be configured to work with or without the leading zero.
Also the fitting a DCS 200 PRI into an OS500 system is not supported by Samsung, (even if it appears to work).
