Is it possible to connect to the OS-7100 Voice Mail via dial-up? My customer does not have High Speed internet access yet. I need to make changes that are not available through DTMF programming. I can connect to the phone system but there is no link to the voice mail like there is when connected via the LAN. I have searched the manual and it's almost clear that I'm out of luck!

Set up a modem and a dail-in VPN network connection on an Windows box. This will get you access to the LAN.

Better yet, buy a Systech RCS-3182, RCS-3184 or RCS-3284 and connect a modem to one of the serial ports, setup RAS (Remote Access Server) in the device and connect the ethernet port to a switch/hub or to the OS-7100 with a crossover cable. I have been buying these serial port servers for years. I mostly use them in the reverse method to create a ethernet interface for older Samsung systems like the DCS, DCS Compact, 50si, 400si, DS616, iDCS-100r1 and iDCS-500r1. Because they have multiple serial ports on one serial ports server you can also hook up to your SVMi-8, SVMi-4, SVMi-4e, SVMi-2e or SVM-400 with only one device (and IP address). On your computer you run a software program called NativeCom and makes you computer think that the ports on the serial port server are local on your computer even if the serial port server is connected to the internet 500 miles away. Anyway they work great and you could use it for the OS-7100 to have remote access for the Voicemail and/or the Installation Tool.
I did field trials for the OS 7100 (back almost 2 years ago) and I am tring to get them to include RAS built in (using the internal modem) to the MP11 when it is released for the OS 7100.

Due to the dynamic structure of the board, we are making a few changes. The posts that are being moved from the installer’s section to the open forum have been deemed viewable for the public. There are a few caveats to these moves that also pertain to any future topics that you may decide to help with. 1. When posting a possible answer we request that you state facts not opinions. 2. When posting do not include any proprietary information. 3. When posting use this theory; provide information on what to do and not how to do it.
An example would be; in order for you to use the return call feature from the caller ID display. You need to use the least cost routing feature.
A bad example would be; in order for you to use the return call feature from the caller ID display. Go to mmc XXX and insert the digits needed. Then go to mmc XXX and XXX to activate LCR.
We still encourage the use of the PM feature or email if you plan on providing technical information that is above the user guide or admin programming ability. For the installer that has a technical question you can still use the installer’s category with out fear of your post being moved.
If you feel that a topic should not be in the open forum please make your request known to a moderator for that category. Include a link to the thread and your reasons for the request.
Thank you for your understanding in this matter.
