We are having an odd problem with a newly installed 7100.

Customer is complaining - only ONE phone - that voice mail messages are fading and choppy.

We went to the site today and tried all types of tests and could not replicate the problem until we retrieved messages via her speakerphone on her 28-button set. Then the fades and cutouts were definitely there.

Then we tried from the handset and the same message sounded fine.

So, thinking that we had a bad speakerphone, we replaced the phone itself and tried again. Same bad audio quality.

What steps should we take from here? I have attached the database.

The extension having the problems is x204 - Executive Director of the company (of course!!).

Turn down the mic gain on the phone. Could be picking up background noise.

We thought about that but it does it in room silence and/or mic muted. We are going to try to swap DLI ports.

What software rev are you running? The latest is 4.14K

that is weird, have you listened to anyone elses messages from that phone and port? wonder if its the mailbox? have you listened to 204 messages from another installed set?

Yep, fade across the board. From different phones. On the bench now.

Replaced the entire 7100 cabinet since account is 'less than happy' with the problem.

And .... tada .... the problem is still there. Integra has a VINA box providing the local dial tone. What do you bet? Weak MA lines.
