had customer reboot system using 'reset' button on front of MCP card, still getting 'forcefully rejected'.

Make sure that their IT person has ports 5090 and 5003 open. Especially 5090.

I think i have the solution. Go inside control panel and select the support for Asian language. by the way, the new version 1.21.2 has fixed this bug.

The system is on a static IP and connected directly to the internet, no router or firewall... I've had their ISP confirm the IP address. Even more odd is the voicemail gives me an "error 501, application not set up on this server".

Have you thought about putting a cheap Netgear or Linksys on that static, before the 7100 w/ port forwarding enabled? Avail for cheap.
Maybe it is some sort of link timing issue?
The only time I have got the forceful reject screen is when I have not waited for the 7100 to fully boot, inc the voicemail.
Haven't seen one put directly on a public IP before; probably no biggee - there isn't anything to really 'hack'.

I have seen this error before also if you attempt to log-in just after rebooting the system before the service starts. Make sure you are waiting long enough after restart to log-in.

Tip is right. That can be 12 minutes sometimes with the 7100 if the MMC 7XX that controls mailbox downloads is set to 'yes.'
