Hi all
We have an issue at several sites where by, when the cordless handsets are paired with a desk phone, when the desk phone is answered the cordless continues to ring. It will ring until the handset is turned off.
Sometimes the handsets so no connection, this can happen when you are very close to the access points (within 2-3 metres)
We are using 2nd generation handset and AP's.
SMT-R2000 AP's AP Software Ver: 2.09
SMT-W5100 IP Handsets Handset ver: 1.4.2
OS ver: 4.14k
AP's configured as a cluster with basic WEP authentication/Encryption
At first we thought it was a coverage issue, however, there is good coverage through out the site, and a laptop has no problem using the wireless.
On checking the connection speed of the handsets, it displays 54Mbs, the lowest we have seen is 12Mbps.
We also noticed that the handsets beep when in a call, signalling you that the wireless connection is weak, again this can happen when very close to the Access Points.

I strongly recommend you contact with support in your country and change software on WIP 5100 terminals to 1.06.04. Reading from description to it – “When IP Phone make a call with SMT-W5100 Phone that is registered Non SIP mode, Receiver [SMT-W5100] makes a ring continually, but caller [IP Phone] is disconnected. It’s fixed.†About second question, it is very difficult say something with out detail cover analyse. Laptop says you nothing, because -different devises have different sensitive of the antenna - for voice transmission you need bigger broadband and good transmission with out lost and speed downfall than it need for data transmission. You need to do more careful analyze of the signal and channels distribution.

Ver 1.06.04 on Cordless handsets, ver 2.09 on AP's and Ver 4.21c on system. Works a treat.

Well it seemed two for about a week.
The cordess handsets are conneting between 10 - 3- Mbits, that is easily fast enough for the voice transmission via wireless. It seems to be a connectivity issue between the handset and the AP, the handsets seem to just un-associate themselves and this causes the continued ring.
Hopefully Samsung will resolve the issues as there engineers are visiting the site next week.

Adam,
I have the same problems with the SMT-W5100 IP Handsets, losing signal as soon as a connection is made. So far I did not notice the continued ring.
Do you still have the connection loss using the 1.06.04 version or is this solved ?
Do you know where I can find the software upgrades, I cannot find the product on the samsung site
