Hi,

I was wondering if anyone successfully is able to use W5100e connecting to the system thru dmz.

I have couple of home offices rigth now using ITP-5112L and I want to switch them on a W5100e.

Any help or comments greatly appriciated...

The W5100E Handset needs to connect to a LOCAL Access Point. You can create a network using VPN tunnels, but it's not very easy to setup or very effective. You are better off using the ITP Phones.

We’ve few sites with VPN tunnels and works very well ,the only requirements are don’t use chip routers/firewall, or wait for the next OS / SMTR-2000 software to be released (actually is on beta advanced stage).Hope is helpful .

Mathrap,

So do you mean with the new OS W5100 will be working thru dmz? I do not have SMTR-2000 AP's, I am using Sonicpoint to connect locally.

Thanks...

With latest software OS7000 series, and W5100 software can be registered "public" like the ITP can currently.
You will need a local AP for the W5100 to connect via.
I have a W5100 that i use at work and can use at home, home is connected back to the system via the internet registered as system 2 via my wireless router
