We have ended up with several SVMI-4 & 4E SPARES, mostly used but good working order.

(We still have several Starmails in service. Mostly on Compacts.)

When Trouble Shooting, Upgrading or swapping out, we manually re-record and/or delete Boxes and prompts. etc.

I would prefer to DEFAULT them in the Office, put them on a shelf and not worry. Not worry about hidden boxes or greetings from the last User/owner Freaking Out the caller/Customer when we miss something.

I went to the DOS prompt to check out the .tbl files, but am very reluctant to experiment.

Is there a simple way to default to Factory New?

THANKS

Go into the xxx directory and type xxxxxxxxxxxxx It must be typed as shown with the word xxxxx in xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx or it will not work.

It's a good idea to go into the xxx directory and delete any promts above the four basic prompts. (Prompts 1001 - 1004 are your generic prompts.)

Please do not list installer level defaults in the open forum.

CIT

Thanks for the prompt Help.

I went to dos, xxx and typed: xxxxxxxxxxxxx, hit return and it appeared to accept that,
no error message.

I went into the xxx directory and it has:
.
..
xxxxxx
3 Files
I couldn't get into any of those or see any prompts to Delete. Made sense, tho' to delete anything above 1004.

I loaded VM back up and it appears nothing was deleted....or I don't know what xxx should delete. All LOGS are still there, old Message Counts etc..... what does xxx cover?

When you get into the xxx directory and typed xxxxxxxxxxx... you should have gotten some prompts concerning the default. Go back into the voicemail and try just typing xxxxxxx. (I think the older SVMi-4's use the xxxxxxx with the xxxx switch.)

The prompts are inside the xxxxx directory, so you just need to get into that directory to see the actual .xxx files.

PM me with your address and I can send you some additional information.
