We are connecting a IP phone and of course we are only getting one way talk path. I look in the MMC for IP phone Configs and it shows that the signal port being used is 55006 and 55010, not 6000 and 9000. It connects to the system but no talk pathway is present. We are working with the companies network guy and told him the ports we need forwarded. Which were 6000 and 9000 to the MCP and 30000-30031 to the MGI. He told me that they are, but for some reason we still can't get the phone to talk.
Any suggestions?

I have run into this before and of course TS says that the ports aren't forwarded correctly, I have been able to run a NMAP on the IP and verfied that 6000 and 9000 were opened. Which in my problem child, after verifing the connectivity through several differant carriers found that the issue was only arising with one carrier. Take a phone to a differant remote site and see if you still have issues.

when you say carrier, you mean the ISP right? We are on ATT DSL, have you encountered a problem using them?

Anytime you see strange port numbers in MMC XXX, it's the router on the far end... NOT the router on the system end. If it's a location with just one ITP phone, setup port forwarding on that router to the ITP phone OR put the ITP phone in the DMZ.
I have struggled with this problem MANY times and it's hard to get people (customers) to believe me... but that really is the problem.
If you have multiple ITP phones, the best way to resolve the problem is to create a VPN tunnel between sites and use the internal LAN for connecting the phones.
Feel free to contact me at the number below if you have any problems or need more information.

CIT, we have the ITP phone at our shop and are testing to make sure we can get it fully operational for a customer in a remote location (obviously). So what your saying is the problem is at our end?
Is it the router or my ISP or something else?
Our talk path is, I can here them, they cant here me. Also with that said, when we connect 2 ITP phones at our shop to the remote system we cant here nothing betweeb those 2 phones when we call each other.

Do you have port 6100 going to the MCP and 9001 going to the MGI?Also make sure you are forwarding the correct protocals.

Thanks alot CIT. Its crazy how a computer network company that does what they do for living can't seem to manage there own equipment properly. Fortunately for me, you came to the rescue and were able to check there configurations and find the problems. I owe you one!!!
