I have a basic question so hopefully easy.
I have been given a iDCS 100 for our new office which came with the voicmail card. I used to install Compact 2's but have little experince with the svmi.
The card installed fine as was basically defaulted in the system, and automatically created its subscribers etc which work fine.
My problem is that I have created a subscriber using DTMF for group 501, so unanswered calls will overflow into voicemail. I set group 501 to overflow to group 519 and it does. Problem I have is that it goes to the main greeting and not to the leave a message prompt. When I try to access mailbox 501 via #501 form the main greeting it allows me into the box but only says "for a list of options press 0". This list only allows me to record my name or change the password and nothing else.
It seems as the there isnt a mailbox there to record messages in, even though the subscriber exists. I have all the manuals for it, but it mentions nothing really of subscribers anywhere. I do not have access to the voicemail via pc.
Thanks for your help.

I think you will need to access the SVMi with a pc to allow the 501 mailbox to take messages.I am assuming when you added 501 you added both an extnsion and a mailbox.

extension 501 obviosly existed in the phone system, but in mmc 751 its mailbox was set to no when the voicemail downloaded for the first time.
I then entered the admin area of the voicemail using dtmf, option 2 and added the subscriber 501. Does the extension 501 also need adding to the voicemail. is this possible to do without the pc?
if not do you have a pin layout for the 9 pin cable so I can make one up to access it via pc, plus where I can download the software from?
Thanks

If you set it to yes in the system. It should work but if you did not. You need a straight through cable and hyper terminal or another emulator to access the VM.

It's important to make sure about SVMi4 VS SVMi4e.
You can look at your phone display when you access your VM box and it will tell you.

You will for sure have to access it with a PC. You will also have to check the subscribers list and make sure ext 501 has box 501.
