You do not need a Rom2 card for caller id.
Caller id was added to all DCS software versions starting in 3.1 This is from the release 3 software notes from Samsung.

The DCS is the DCS200 here in AU.
The Compact is a DCS Compact, which wasn't very popular, and was replaced with the DCS70 (known as the Compact II in most other regions)
Then there is the DCS 400si which is beleive is what was known as the DCS Gateway here in AU
You are thinking of the RCM card which provided PSTN CID to DGP handsets on the iDCS500 which can also be used on the OS500/OS7200/OS7400.
This was later upgraded to RCM2 with the OS500 which provided PSTN CID to DGP and SLT handsets
