This might be a technical question but thought i would throw it out there anyway.
i have a compact with versino 2.6 software, misc 1 card, ram 2, 2X4 DLI card, 2x4 SLI card, and SVMi-4. what would it take to upgrade to get Caller ID?

You already have the Ram 2 card and the software so yes only a Misc 2 card is required as CMDL GUY said.

If I could help out.
Look in the compact at the software chips again were you got the release version. If it says
2.X Basic, you will need new software chips that say 2.X CID (caller id)

What you need is like Dennis said 2.xCID software. So I would get v2.8CID which is the latest...Also you need the Misc2 card and the Ram2 module.
