Client has a DX-80 (16UM0.F25) and no voicemail card. KSU likely took a power surge in the past few days.
PROBLEM(S) All digital stations behaving badly, different lights incorrectly lit, some incorrect characters in the display. Have lost intercom between stations. CO lines will also receive calls but cannot call out. Just messed-up.
MY FIRST SOLUTION Initialized system and manually reloaded the programming. System was stable for 8 hours then it acted up just as reported above.
MY SECOND EFFORT Initialized system again. Left KSU in complete default mode progamming. Unit ran fine for about 4 hours, then it started acting up again as described above.
--> Is it toast? Time for complete replacement? --> Out of warranty repair recommendations...if so what board should be replaced?
Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks!

Probably easier to replace the whole cabinet. You don't know for sure if it's the mother board (4 lines and 8 stations) or the CPU board or the power supply.
If I were you I would replace the cabinet---and get them up and running. Save all of the other boards.

Wait! Stop! First replace the software chips and try again. If you don't have a set of chips, I can hook you up or buy the cabinet from you.
This is why anyone selling systems should have a back up or a crash kit to trouble shoot with. You really should be prepared to replace the CPU before you make them buy a new cabinet.

Replacing the chips worked. My thanks to both of you! A word about crash kit policy that Mark correctly mentioned...we are certified on this same unit (manufacturered by TCom) under Tadiran ICE and K3 (formerly Sprint North Supply). We do have the appropriate parts for these slightly different vendor models.
We did not install this Comdial system, the original installer is no where to be found there is no big Comdial precence in our Market. Just trying to help the client. THANKS AGAIN TO BOTH OF YOU!

I love it when a plan comes together. Glad the software chips and my advice was able to help. Mark
