I no that on a 7100 you can dedicated a port to record a particular ext but I need to record a particular line, is this possible?

You didnt mention auto record. No it's not the same way as the mmc you described. You can set it up in the VM however and it works well. but you will lose a port for any other use.

So can you or not auto record a particular line even if it dedicates a port?

I don't believe you can record a specific line. Only a specific station via auto record. There are of course non-Samsung solutions that will work on a line by line basis.

You can not auto record a line specifically via a button press. But it can be set up to always record the line in the voicemail. Then set up to email it and delete it.
