Looked At SIP. Studied SIP. Certified on SIP. Have not yet implemented SIP trunking.
I like the Broadvox offerings. I know that Waine will not touch SIP at this time.
Can anyone report SIP successes on OS7100's or OS7200's?
I would like to sell it, but don't want to spend my time learning Wireshark so SIP problems can be debugged when it probably won't be a Samsung hardware issue or programming issue anyway.

We started with two SIP trunks from Broadvox through their dealer demo program. We were impressed with their quality enough to abandon our POTS lines and go strictly SIP. We are also in the process of becoming a VAR for Broadvox.

SIP is scary for us too. Love that demark!
Since it may be the only motivating factor for many prospects to upgrade their phone systems, it may be a must do option.
I can hear it now- "Sometimes people call us and the phone doesn't ring .... Sometime we try to dial out and it doesn't go through." Just great.

Not sure about the American Carrier market, but In Australia SIP trunks is going to be huge. Hundreds of Samsungs already connected and more going SIP every day.
Just remember one thing, if you don't offer SIP to your customer, your competitor will.

With SIP, what does the account do for faxing, postage machines, etc?
Retain one or two two analogs or do you try to talk them into MyFax or Efax, etc?

Some carriers will offer Fax over IP, and it works OK. Some offer it but will not guarantee the service level, this is not ideal.
Personally I sell them the concept of keeping a analog line and using it for Fax and as a backup for when the IP network fails.
For EFTPOST (credit card) machines, I would use a dedicated BRI or analog line.

We are only doing SIP on DSL, so there will almost always be a POTS line for the DSL.

We are having poor experiences getting reliable faxing done over Broadvox SIP trunks. We thought we had one working 100%, but then they called this morning - sure enough - 1 out of every 10 faxes won't go through.
We are going POTs on all fax lines from now on.
