Prostar 816 Plus / Starmail (2 Port) / 816 Keyset: when I try to transfer a call to another person's voicemail sometimes it works other times it bounces back the the operator's extension. Here's how I transfer to VM... I push the port 28 button (this calls starmail) then I do # extension number. Am I missing something or can anybody recommend a better way of transferring a call to VM.
TIA

More info... this may be the cause of the previously mentioned problem. Normally when I call starmail from my extension I hear the 2 beeps and then a prompt to enter my password, however on occasion I hear the 2 beeps and that's it. When this happens I hang up and repeat the process... this happens quite often

Well, see what happens when I take a day or two off OK there are some things that need to be checked. Make sure in system programming that the voice mail ports are not set for auto answer. You need to restrict them from receiving pages too. What happens when you use port 27 the same way? Can you program a "group 3" button on all of the phones? If so You might start using that if the 27 thing does not go well. Remember ext 28 needs to set message waiting indicators and do other functions as well as answer the calls. Let me know and I will keep up in the PM I sent you. :thumb:

I checked auto answer (MMC #10), it's set to normal, how do I check it specifically for ports 27 and 28

Just did a test from my cell phone... called our business line, pressed the button for port 27 then #22 (general delivery mailbox) and hung up the business line... on my cell I heard the daytime greeting (did not get voicemail)

How about 27 and 28. They should not have them.

Got starmail to answer consistently, port 27 was set to auto answer... changed to normal. So here's the final problem, when I try to transfer a call to a user's voicemail they hear the daytime greeting then the call gets kicked back to me and rings my extension. How should I be transferring calls to VM?
